Computer simulation models as tools for urban and regional policy analysis have been developed for several decades now. Sometimes successfully, sometimes not. After a period of relative neglect, renewed modeling efforts in this field are encouraged by modern, cheap and powerful computer facilities which have enlarged the user possibilities of computer simulation models substantially. A computer simulation model of the socio-economic system of the Gaza Strip can be of great help for local policy makers in their attempt to formulate and implement a socio-economic development policy. This book is about the development, validation and preliminary application of such a model.
