摘要

The study provides the background necessary to examine the fate of high-pressurereleases of compressed natural gas from onboard fuel storage tanks into a ventilated bus parking facility. In particular, this research project focused on identifying the size, extent, location, and duration of flammable clouds in bus barns. The approach outlined can be used to determine where best to locate combustible gas sensors and to design ventilation systems. Using a case study approach that included use of the SLEAK computer model developed on anothr GRI-sponsored project, researchers analyzed the release of high-pressure gas from a fuel storage tank. Analyses were directed at characterizing the source, determining the effects of buoyancy, modeling the gas dispersion, modeling the residence time of air in the enclosure, and calculating free jet behavior.
