Power of the Senior (Poder del Anciano): Manual for Community Decision Making inPlanning Home and Community Based Care Services for Older Adults

This was a project that would demonstrate how persons who use Home and CommunityBased Care (HCBC) could be meaningfully involved in determining what these services should be provided in their communities. The project had six goals: (1) to expand the awarness of the local/state HCBC system; (2) to involve as many people, specifically senior consumers, in the process of deciding the direction and priorities of HCBC; (3) to educate the community about the role that the HCBC plays in the infrastructure of a community and the consequences of a system failure; (4) to develop new local leadership and support for HCBC; (5) to provide consumer-driven recommendations for area and state plans for HCBC services; (6) to demonstrate a replicable model for HCBC Community Decision Making in other states, with manual video production.
