This report describes the results of an experimental study that, to the knowledgeof the author, for the first time demonstrates that electronic speckle pattern interferometry, ESPI, is a useful technique for investigation of the mechanical vibration mode patterns of the magnetostrictive sensor element in a fiberoptic magnetometer.
