摘要

There is growing evidence that the evaluation of the health of a community oflocal Lepidoptera can be a meaningful indicator of the general health of a particular ecosystem. Optimum strategies and disciplines for the management of wildlife resources need to be developed on a continuous basis to obtain the best possible balance of healthy flora and fauna. For example, a decision to apply insecticides, or to employ non-poisonous control measures, is still open to question. Furthermore, a great deal of information about the life cycles, preferences and behavior of Lepidoptera is available today, and the public is more and more actively supporting efforts to save their birds, butterflies, and moths of the night. Lepidoptera are also important indicators of habitat definition. Lepidoperta are also popular with the public, thus support for inventories and management practices, aimed at Lepidoptera, receive public support.
