Fire and Life Safety Assessment and Indexing Methodology II (FLAIM II):Development and Test Plan

FLAM II fills a unique role in the safety assessment of marine systems. Itincorporates three sources of information on Human and Organizational Factors into questions that will be used by trained and experienced assessors to asses offshore platforms and terminals. The methodology is based on assigning scaled values for likelihood and consequence to determine a relative risk value for each category of assessment. The assessors also provide valuable information in the form of comments to reduce risk, and their uncertainty in asigned values . The training of the assessors is divided into two parts, the first being informational and the second being 'hands-on' use of the instrument. The assesment consists of three phases, a one day onshore screen final evaluation.
