With the passage of the Victims of Crime Act of 1984 (VOCA), Congress created a211u001eunique funding mechanism the Crime Victims Fund (the Fund)to support services for 211u001ecrime victims. The Fund is derived from fines and penalties paid by convicted 211u001eFederal offenders not from tax dollars. Since its inception, the Fund has 211u001egenerated more than $2 billion to support thousands of crime victims programs 211u001ethroughout the United States. This report describes the accomplishments that the 211u001eOffice for Victims of Crime has been able to make using deposits from the Crime 211u001eVictims Fund for grants and other program initiatives. It covers activities from 211u001eOctober 1, 1994, through September 30, 1996.
