摘要

After the success of the first LAP workshop in 1996, the second international211u001eworkshops on Communication Modeling will be organized in the Netherlands on June 211u001e9-10, 1997. This two-day workshop is aimed at bringing together researchers from 211u001eBusiness Administration, Linguistics and Computer Science, as well as potential 211u001eindustrial partners and users, who are interested in the theory of Communicative 211u001eAction and the modeling of Business Processes. Invited Speaker for this workshop 211u001eis James Taylor, University of Montreal, author of the inspiring 'Rethinking the 211u001etheory of organizational communication: how to read an organization' (Ablex, 211u001e1993). The Language/Action perspective (for a large part based on Searle's Speech 211u001eAct theory) introduced in the field of information systems by Flores and Ludlow 211u001ein the early 1980's has proven to be a new basic paradigm for Information Systems 211u001eDesign. In contrast to traditional views of 'data flow', the language/action 211u001eperspective emphasizes what people DO while communicating; how they create a 211u001ecommon reality by means of language and how communication brings about a 211u001ecoordination of their activies.
