Telematic Tools to Support Group Projects in Higher Education

The authors describe ongoing evaluations and new research on the use of telematic211u001etools to support project work in higher education. Practical experience at the 211u001eauthors' University has shown that project work can be implemented using the 211u001eWorld Wide Web for many aspects of the project activities. The possibilities will 211u001egrow with the introduction of groupware facilities in browsers. Among other 211u001esuccess factors, the possibility to implement efficient and effective group and 211u001ecourse management is essential for a more broad application of WWW supported 211u001eproject work in higher education. The authors describe a research project aiming 211u001eat the integration of project management tools in a WWW environment. The authors 211u001ewill indicate how such educational tools will differ from project management 211u001esuites for non-educational organizations.
