Community Based Outpatient Clinic Summary Report: Evaluation of CBOC Cervical Cancer Screening and Results Reporting.

The VA Office of Inspector General (OIG) Office of Healthcare Inspections conducted a systematic review of the Veterans Health Administrations (VHAs) Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) to evaluate for compliance with selected VHA requirements regarding cervical cancer screenings and results reporting. The objectives were to determine (1) whether women veterans, ages 2364, received cervical cancer screening (CCS) and (2) whether ordering providers and patients received notification of cervical cancer screening results within the timeframes established by VHA policy (timeliness). Inspectors performed this evaluation during CBOC reviews conducted from October 1, 2012, through September 30, 2013.
