Capacitance and Diameter Control in Telephone Cable Insulation Process

This thesis concerns capacitance and diameter control in some telephone cableinsulation lines, especially foamed insulation lines. A process model is developed for the insulation process. The tuning method is derived and it is used to determine the control parameters dependent on the operation point to achieve the required performance goal. The autotuning is derived which determines the control parameters and develops separate compensators for nonlinearities. The controller is implemented and tested.
