摘要

Traditional military radio systems in the Swedish defence are narrowband andoperate in a relatively low frequency band, but in recent years, there has been a growing interest in systems using wider bandwidths and higher frequencies. Some channel model exist, especially for civil mobile radio systems, and five of these models are studied in this report. The first of these five models is Bello's model. Both his and Turin's channel models are only valid for narrowband channels and for short-time transmissions, but are widely used for all channels. Parsons' model is a way to transform Bello's narrowband and short time channel model into a wideband channel model valid for longer time periods by investigating how the parameters vary. The fourth model is made by Dersch and has another approach as he starts with the assumption that the channel is infinitely wideband and evaluates the results of making it more narrowband. The last model is a deterministic channel model where recordings of different channels are used to simulate a channel on a computer. This report presents a summary of these five approaches and specifies their assumptions.
