Preliminary Study of Runoff of Selected Contaminants from Rural Maine Highways

The loads of phosphorus and total sediment in runoff from three rural highways inwest-central Maine were estimated for the period September 1992 through August 1993. The estimates were made on the basis of water-quality and other hydrologic data collected at two paved highway (Routes 2 and 27) and at unpaved roadway (Kimball Pond Road in New Sharon).
