National Advanced Manufacturing Testbed: Toward 21st Century Information-BasedManufacturing

The National Advanced Manufacturing Testbed, recently begun by the NationalInstitute of Standards and Technology, is designed to help U.S. industry speed the transition to 21st century manufacturing capabilities. At the NAMT--a distributed testbed built on a state-of-the-art, high-speed computing and communications infrastructure--scientists and engineers from industry, NIST, academia, and government agencies are working together to solve measurement and standards issues that impede companies and industries from making the most of their information technology.
