A number of Senior Companion and Foster Grandparent Projects across the country are using these waivers to mobilize additional funding for their programs, allowing projects to expand volunteer services and serve more clients. Home and community based waivers present similar opportunities for virtually all Senior Companion and Foster Grandparent Projects. This guide is based on the successful experiences of Senior Companion and Foster Grandparent Projects that have pioneered the work with Medicaid home and community based waivers. It is designed to provide projects with the tools they need to maximize the possibilities that these waivers provide.
