National and regional transport companies take care of far more goods movements to, from and within the three communities of Indre Salten than what the local transporters do. The market analysis has, by means of questionnaire and direct survey interviews of both the local transport business and transport users in local industry, pinpointed several reasons for the existing situation. The study suggest alternative strategies to strengthen the local transport business. Development of a local transport cooperation company would be a first step to obtain growth.
