摘要

Eulerian air-quality models (AWMS) have emerged over the past decade as criticaltools for studying actual cases of poor air quality and to test the effectiveness of alternative emission control strategies before their implementation. Among the key meteorological variables that strongly influence the concentration and trajectory of pollutant plumes are the 3-D wind field and the depth of the turbulent boundary-layer. The most accurate method currently available for generating internally consistent mesoscale meteorological fields as inputs for AQMs is through the application of numerical meteorological models.
