The U.S. Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General, Audit Division, has completed an audit of a Tribal Victim Assistance Grant, 2003-VF-GX-0010, in the amount of $593,175 awarded by the Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office for Victims of Crime to the Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians (Soboba), San Jacinto, California. The purpose of the grant was to assist Soboba in planning and implementing a 3-year program to improve its ability to provide services to victims of crimes, such as child abuse, homicide, elder abuse, driving while intoxicated, and gang violence. As of the grant end date on August 31, 2007, Soboba had expended $589,535 (99 percent); OJP de-obligated the remaining balance of $3,640.
