Baghouse Fines in Asphalt Mixes

This research study was accomplished to establish criteria for the reintroductionof baghouse fines into HMA mixtures. Baghouse fines were obtained from a total of 18 HMA plants in South Carolina. These samples were subjected to a particle size analysis using a Coulter LS200 particle size analyzer and then tested using the modified Rigden's void test. Based on the results of this testing, ten plants were chosen to have samples combined to form ten combined baghouse fine samples. These ten combined samples were then added to asphalt binders and subjected to various mortar tests.
