摘要

This report presents results of an analysis of changes in channel cross-sectiongeometry and volume in two selected, distincly different reaches of the Kankakee River in Illinois. Changes from 1980 to 1994 were evaluated for the reach of the Kankakee River, known as the Momence Wetlands. Momence Wetland extend from the Illinois-Indiana State line downstream to the mouth of Singleton Ditch near Momence, ILL. Changes in channel geometry and volume among 1959, 1968, 1978, 1989, and 1994 were evaluated for the pooled reach of the Kankakee River known as the Six-Mile Pool. The Six-Mile Pool is a permanently pooled section of the river channel, which traps many sediments that are transported through the upstream reaches.
