Legal Authorities Database: A 'Legal Foundations' Study, Report 4 of 12. Report211 to the President's Commission on Critical Infrastructure Protection

In the fall of 1996, the President's Commission on Critical Infrastructure211u001eProtection (PCCIP) commissioned the creation of a legal database. The PCCIP Legal 211u001eAuthorities Database (Database) now houses over 14,000 legal authorities bearing 211u001eon infrastructure assurance, including Federal, state, local, international, and 211u001eeven private sector authorities such as standards and guidelines. The Database 211u001econtent specifically reflects the results of a de novo review of pertinent legal 211u001esources, and input from PCCIP Commissioners and staff from each of the five 211u001eSector Working Groups. Laws and regulations were included based on sector 211u001ereports, briefings and additional authorities that came to the PCCIP's attention, 211u001eThe content also embodies contractor submissions, suggestions from numerous 211u001epublic officials, and reports from the private sector.
