Centennial Wash, Jackrabbit Wash and Hassayampa River siphons are 21 footdiameter prestressed concrete pipe sophons constructed under specifications DC-7304. These three siphons are the westernmost of six prestressed concrete pipe siphons on the Hayden Rhodes Aqueduct, formerly the Granite Reef Aqueduct, Central Arizona Project. In January 1990 excavation of pipe sections confirmed the existence of serious corrosion of the steel prestressing wire. An emergency response was initiated. Chapter 2 includes a review of relevant history. The design of tendon repairs is one part of the ongoing repair and replacement process. The complexity of the tendon repair design problem results from the uncertaintly of current and future pipe deterioration. The repair design is summarized.
