Permanent Signs Mounted on Median Barriers. A Synthesis of Highway Practice

This report compiles and documents information regarding the current state of practice for mounting permanent signs on top of rigid median barriers throughout the United States. A primary objective of this research is to assess the extent to which barrier-mounted signs are used and the level of consideration some practices give to potential safety concerns. This report will be immediately useful to highway design practitioners.
