In the Delft Shiphydromechanics Laboratory model test have been carried out with211u001etwo different 3.5 meter models alternately equipped with four different keels 211u001efrom which the geometries have been varied systematically. The aim of this 211u001eproject was to examine the interaction effects between hull and keel within the 211u001erange of the hull-and-keel geometries. All eight hull-keel combinations as well 211u001eas the two bare hulls were tested according to the standard testing routine from 211u001ethis Laboratory. The experiment consisted of a regular upright and a heel-and-211u001eleeway-test for accepted points of sailing. In contrast to this standard testing 211u001eroutine the keel has been isolated from the hull, so keel loading (resistance, 211u001eside force moment) could be measured directly.
