In the present paper based on a literature survey, the properties and211u001emicrosctructure of Fe-Mo-B system sintered alloys, especially Mo2FeB2-based 211u001ecermets and their production methods were summarized. The physical and mechanical 211u001eproperties of Mo2FeB2-based cermets were compared with those of the cemented 211u001ecarbide. Fe-Mo-B sintered alloys which have a unique characteristic are not only 211u001egood structural material but also excellent wear resistant material. The ultimate 211u001etensile strength over 700 MPa was obtained in Fe-Mo-B sintered steel, and good 211u001eproperties of mo2FeB2-based cermets equivalent to those of cemented carbides were 211u001eachieved by a new technique, so-called reaction boronizing sintering.
