摘要

As part of a seismic retrofit plan of a building, an energy dissipating system211u001ewas designed by Nabih Youssef & Associates. The system uses nonstructural 211u001elightweight reinforced concrete panels as structural elements that not only carry 211u001esome portion of the lateral load, but also dissipate energy as a result of 211u001erelative displacements between adjacent floors. A full scale model of the panels 211u001eand the energy dissipating devices was tested under different types of motions. 211u001eBy modifying the types of anchor bolts used to connect the steel elements to the 211u001econcrete, a more efficient energy dissipating has been proposed. The results are 211u001epresented in this report.
