Advancing Research for Rural Community and Migrant Health Center Operations.211 Conference, Abstract, Executive Summary and Appendices

The purpose of the project was to complete a special conference involving211u001eresearchers, practitioners working in Community and Migrant Health Centers 211u001e(C/MHCs) and administrator from C/MHCs that would produce a research agenda 211u001erelevant to the needs of C/MHCs. A special emphasis of the project as on 211u001econtributions of C/MHcs in rural areas. An annotated bibliography of 146 211u001eabstracts was included in conference materials. The 38 participants in the 211u001econference generated a listing of ideas for research, and six specific research 211u001edesigns. General topic areas detailed during the conference were quality of care, 211u001eaffects of managed care, and care for underserved populations. Results of the 211u001econference are being used by the Joint Task Force of the National Rural Health 211u001eAssociation and the National Association of Community Health Centers in their 211u001eefforts to increase research funding and focus attention on the work of C/MHCs.
