摘要

A stratified, random, creel survey was conduced at Marion and Swan lakes, McLeodCounty, Minnesota, from November 1995 to November 1996. The total estimated angling pressure during this period was 43,000 angler hours (103 hours per acre) for Marion Lake, and 25,000 angler hours (72 hours per acre) for Swan Lake. Anglers harvested 30 pounds of fish per acre from Marion Lake and 38 pounds per acre from Swan Lake. Ten species of fish were caught by anglers at each lake. Species most sought by anglers at Marion Lake were black crappie (24% of anglers) and walleye (17%). Species most sought by anglers at Swan Lake were walleye (36% of anglers) and black crappie (19%). Panfish species (bluegills, black crappies, and pumpkinseed sunfish) were an important component of the fishery at each lake with 56% of Marion Lake anglers at 42% of Swan Lake anglers targeting these species. Angler trip related expenditures for the year were estimated to be $506,000 for Marion Lake and $405,000 for Swan Lake.
