Investigation of Ownership and Maintenance Responsibilities for Structures211 Separating Highway and Railroad Traffic

The purpose of this study was to identify the issues, including the costs of211u001eimprovements and maintenance, regarding the possible conveyance of overpass 211u001eownership and maintenance from the railroads to VDOT and underpass ownership and 211u001emaintenance from VDOT to the railroads for the 101 structures identified. This 211u001estudy sought to determine and provide to the Commonwealth and affected 211u001ejurisdictions the consequences of such conveyances.
