This study examines the post-merger strategies of the leading defense companies211u001ein the United States. Consequences for Europe are drawn from the analysis. 211u001eStudies of Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Raytheon, and Northrop Grumman, supported by 211u001eface-to-face interviews conducted in the US, have highlighted certain findings 211u001eand produced a number of policy recommendations. In analyzing the four companies, 211u001ethe study considers the current status of post-merger integration in each 211u001ecompany, their post-merger strategies and approach to internationalism and 211u001eassesses their post-merger performance. The study highlights the emerging 211u001eopportunities for the development of a transatlantic dimension to defense 211u001eindustry consolidation, whilst acknowledging the significant barriers that 211u001econtinue to exist.
