On June 27, 1997, a 43-year-old male Captain lost consciousness enroute to the211u001ehospital after serving as Incident Commander at the scene of a motor vehicle 211u001ecrash. Despite CPR and ALS administered by the emergency room personnel, the 211u001evictim died. NIOSH was notified of this fatality on June 30, 1998, by the United 211u001eStates Fire Administration.
