This report presents the results of slow, cyclic, lateral-loading centrifuge211u001etests performed on models of pile-cap foundation systems and seat-type bridge 211u001eabutements in dry Neveda sand of 75% relative density to study the lateral 211u001eresponse of these systems. These results are compared with interpretations using 211u001esimple models, results of nonlinear finite element analyses, established design 211u001eprocedures, as well as other evidence including measurements during earthquakes.
