In Delaunay-based grid generation algorithms, the in-sphere criterion plays a211u001ecentral role. An accurate and robust algorithm for employing the in-sphere 211u001ecriterion is proposed. In the derivation of the circumcenter and radius of the 211u001ecircumscribing sphere of a tetrahedral element needed for the in-sphere 211u001ecriterion, round-off errors and propagation errors are introduced. The new 211u001ealgorithm is designed such that these errors are minimized. Furthermore, it is 211u001eshown that the in-sphere criterion can be made invariant for scaling 211u001etransformations.
