A mathematical model for a planing ship in all degrees of freedom was derived.211u001eGoal is to learn more about the behavior of planing ships and to determine what 211u001ethe influence is of all forces and moments of this behavior. For all forces and 211u001emoments measured during the tests mathematical models were derived using 211u001eregression analysis. The mathematical models were derived for pure sway, pure yaw 211u001eand yaw with. Distinction was made between terms in phase with acceleration and 211u001eterms in phase with velocity. For yaw with drift terms in phase with acceleration 211u001ewere zero, because the acceleration was zero. Influence of forward speed on the 211u001eforces and moments was eminent. The potential theory used before, with double 211u001ebody theory and assumption of symmetry in the xz-plane is not applicable anymore.
