U.S. International Transactions in Private Services: A Guide to the SurveysConducted by the Bureau of Economic Analysis

The Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) is the primary collector of data on U.S.international transactions in private servcies. It uses the data collected to compile the U.S. international transactions (or balance of payments) accounts, the national income and product accounts, and the input-output accounts. Other Government agencies use the data to help formulate U.S. trade policy, to analyze the impact of that policy and the polices of foreign countries on international trade in services, and to support trade promotion activities. The data are also used by companies engaged in services trade, private researchers, international organizations, and the general public.
