Estimation Method for the Volatilization of Pesticides from Plants

Often considerable fractions of the pesticide dosage applied on crops volatize.211u001eThey contaminate the environment and are no longer effective against plant 211u001ediseases. Based on data collected from various publications, an empirical 211u001erelation could be established between the cumulative volatization of a pesticide 211u001efrom plants and its vapor pressure. No clear correlation was found for the Henry 211u001eand octanol-water partition coefficients. Within limits, the derived equation can 211u001ebe used to estimate the volatilization of other pesticides used for crop 211u001eprotection.
