Study of the Acquisition of Data from Aircraft Operations to Aid Trajectory211 Prediction Calculation

Several aircraft operators were consulted to determine if they could supply211u001eflight data to ATS which would make a significant difference to the trajectories 211u001ecalculated by flight data processing systems, particularly in the initial climb 211u001ephase. In parallel, simulations were carried out using a typical trajectory 211u001eprediction simulator to assess the benefits which might be obtained from this 211u001edata. The study then went on to investigate when and how this data could by 211u001esupplied.
