Sensitizing the Timoshenko Beam and the Reissner-Mindlin Plate Finite Element211 Solution

The purpose of this report is to raise interest in the sensitizing idea of211u001eCourant and to show its applicability with finite elements in structural 211u001emechanics. An essential part of the procedure is the use of a certain kind of 211u001epatch test for the determination of the sensitizing parameter expressions. In the 211u001efollowing we will consider the Timoshenko beam and the Reissner-Mindlin plate as 211u001edemonstration examples.
