In practice, there could be some contradictions between the reported 211u001einformation, however, best care has been taken in adapting such kind of 211u001einformation. A general perspective has been adapted in preparing this report. 211u001eHowever, this study is primarily focused on the equipment supplies and 211u001etechnological aspects. The Middle East steelmaking capacity is continuing to 211u001eincrease. Iran, Egypt and Qatar has had large activities. In Egypt Ansdik, 211u001eArcosteel, Suez steel, El-Ezz steel and El-Gerhy have been very active. In Iran 211u001eNisco is expanding its capacity 1 million t/y to reach 17.5 million t/y by 2006. 211u001eIn Qatar Qasco is pressing ahead wit HBI project.
