Partnership for the Advancement of Infrastructure and Its Renewal through211 Innovative Technologies (PAIR) White Paper

PAIR is conceived as an umbrella organization of existing and future government,211u001eprivate sector, and academic programs to develop innovative products and 211u001epractices. The Partnership's scope, our national infrastructure, encompasses 211u001etransport, water, sewerage, waste management, energy, and communications systems. 211u001eIndustry and government leaders in all of these areas are participating in PAIR 211u001eas colleagues in a unique partnership. This paper presents the evolving vision, 211u001eobjectives, participants, and potentially valuable initiatives and resources 211u001ethese initiatives may entail. PAIR was conceived as a national mouthpiece and 211u001erallying point to accelerate the construction, renewal, and advancement of our 211u001enation's infrastructure through innovation in engineered systems, technologies, 211u001eproducts, and processes. Much of the Partnership's effort will address non-211u001etechnical barriers that slow the pace of innovation and discourage industry from 211u001ecommercializing promising technologies. PAIR is pursuing four inter-related 211u001eobjectives.
