Self-Paced PC-Based Track Safety Training System

An interactive PC-based training (PCBT) pilot course module was developed for211u001etrack maintenance, construction and engineering personnel at LRT, heavy rail and 211u001ecommuter properties. Historically, track maintainers are exposed to on-the-job 211u001etraining, eventually acquiring a level of proficiency to supervise others. Some 211u001etransit properties certify their track personnel to perform certain safety-211u001ecritical maintenance tasks such as in situ rail welding. Typically, staff are 211u001esent directly out in the field to work in gangs and/or sent to training courses 211u001ewhich may not be tailored to a properties' specific track design and maintenance 211u001epractices.
