The case studies in this volume describe ten applications of ex situ soil211u001etreatment technologies, including three applications of land treatment 211u001e(bioremediation), one application of solvent extraction, and six applications of 211u001ethermal desorption. Two of the land treatment applications were full-scale 211u001eremediations of sites contaminated with polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) 211u001eand petroleum hydrocarbons, and one was a field demonstration at a site 211u001econtaminated with pesticides. The solvent extraction application was a full-scale 211u001eapplication to treat soil contaminated with PCBs. All six thermal desorption 211u001eapplications were full-scale, and involved treatment of soil contaminated with 211u001echlorinated solvents, petroleum hydrocarbons, PAHs, and pesticides. All case 211u001estudies in this volume are for completed applications.
