The program of the meeting was focused on temporal aspects of signal processing211u001ein the human brain. This topic was considered important as a counterpart for the 211u001emultitude of localization-type human studies which have emerged with the recent 211u001edevelopment of positron emission tomography (PET) and functional magnetic 211u001eresonance imaging (fMRI) methods. Since a few thousand fMRI devices are available 211u001eall over the world, it is expected that the localization type approach will 211u001edominate human brain research in the near future.
