This study was conducted as a research project by the graduate student211u001ecooperator, Craig McFarland. Mr McFarland's thesis served as the basis for this 211u001efinal report. The thesis was divided into four chapters; a synopsis of each 211u001echapter is presented herein. The entire thesis is on file and available from the 211u001eUniversity of Missouri-Columbia. Chapter I addresses Objective 1 and describes 211u001ethe types, amounts, and distributions of agricultural insecticides used in the 211u001esummer/maternity range of the Indiana bat (Myotis sodalis) in Missouri. Chapter 211u001eII addresses Objectives 2 and 3 and describes the potential exposure by Indiana 211u001ebats in Missouri to agrochemical insecticides. Chapter III addresses Objective 4a 211u001eand describes how permethrin affects flight ability and causes mortality in 211u001elittle brown bats (Myotis lucifugus). Chapter IV addresses Objective 4b by 211u001etesting sublethal doses of permethrin and describing how the ability of little 211u001ebrown bats to navigate through obstacles in a flight chamber is affected.
