Students' Reports of School Crime: 1989 and 1995. 1989 and 1995 School Crime211 Supplement to the National Crime Victimization Survey

This is the first report that analyzes the two (1989 and 1995) School Crime211u001eSupplements to the National Crime Victimization Survey together. It presents a 211u001enational portrait of the extent to which students ages 12 to 19 experience 211u001eviolent crime or theft of their porperty at school, and their perceptions of the 211u001epresence of guns, street gangs, and illegal drugs at their schools. It also 211u001ehighlights the important changes in these crime-related factors between 1989 and 211u001e1995. Much more data were collected that are analyzed in this report, so we plan 211u001efuture reports that provide more in-depth analyses of the 1989 and 1995 data. The 211u001estudents in this study were interviewed in their homes or by telephone from their 211u001ehomes.
