Solar radiation is known to be a human carcinogen, based on human studies which clearly indicate a causal relationship between exposure to solar radiation and cutaneous malignant melanoma and non-melanocytic skin cancer. Some studies suggest that solar radiation may also be associated with melanoma of the eye and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Exposure to sunlamps or sunbeds is known to be a human carcinogen, based on both human and animal studies. Recent human studies have shown that exposure to sunlamps or sunbeds is associated with cutaneous malignant melonoma.
