Linking Light Rail Transit to the City: Six Neighborhood Station Districts

In this project, landscape architects, architects, and urban design professionals211u001eexplored land use opportunties and challenges in the six neighborhood light rail 211u001estations of South Minneapolis' Hiawatha Corridor. They studied the Cedar 211u001eRiverside, Franklin Avenue, Lake Street, Thirty-Eighth, Forty-Sixth, and 211u001eMinnehaha station areas, analyzing land use patterns, pedestrian and vehicular 211u001eroutes, current zoning, destinations, and potential development sites. They 211u001egathered comments from residents in public meetings. Based on the analysis and 211u001epublic feedback, the researchers identified potential development scenarios for 211u001eeach station area. This report summarizes those scenarios.
