摘要

This paper has four parts. In Section 2 of this paper, the authors draw some211u001econclusions from recent simulation studies in the Lockyersleigh catchment in SE 211u001eAustralia with SiSPAT, a one-dimensional SVAT model. Section 3 addresses the use 211u001eof inverse modeling with a SVAT scheme and areal estimates of surface fluxes 211u001eand/or soil moisture data to obtain effective, mesoscale soil hydraulic 211u001eparameters. The last section of the paper provides an illustration of the 211u001euncertainty in SVAT parameterization which results in predictive uncertainty of 211u001eenergy heat fluxes. In this section, the authors investigate the potential 211u001eutility of thermal signatures of the land surface through the application of the 211u001eTOPUP-SVAT model. The results indicate that while significant uncertainty must 211u001ealways be associated with remote measures of the land surface response, a time 211u001eseries of thermal data collected over a dry-down period, can be usefully employed 211u001eto provide improved parameterization of SVAT constructs.
