This course explores the application of technology applications. Some of these211u001eare portrayed in illustrations that accompany explanations of critical issues 211u001ethat are a part of technology application. In addition, special issues and 211u001eproblems associated with the use of technology in emergency management are 211u001eexamined and strategies to overcome these issues and problems are outlined. Some 211u001eof the subjects treated are use of the Internet, spatial analysis applications in 211u001evulnerability analysis, networks and telecommunications systems, decision support 211u001esystems, and emerging technologies. This manual has been developed and designed 211u001eto be a strong starting point in the delivery of a course on Technology and 211u001eEmergency Management. This course was developed within the context of the Higher 211u001eEducation Project of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the purpose 211u001eof which is to encourage and support the spread of emergency management-related 211u001edegree programs and education in colleges and universities across the United 211u001eStates.
