The C-,F-,K-, and P-Area Coal Pile Runoff Basins (189-C, 289-F, 189-K, and 189-P)211u001e(C-, F-, K-, and P-CPRBs) waste units are listed as Resource Conservation and 211u001eRecovery Act (RCRA) 3004(u) Solid Waste Management Units/Comprehensive 211u001eEnvironmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) units in Appendix 211u001eC of the Federal Facility Agreement (FFA) for the Savannah River Site (SRS). The 211u001epreferred alternative for the C-, F-, K-, and P-CPRBs operable unit is No Further 211u001eAction with a five-year period of confirmatory groundwater monitoring at the K-211u001eCPRB. Gross alpha and the sum of radium-226 and radium-228 have occasionally 211u001eexceeded maximum contaminant levels (MCLs) in the water table aquifer at the K-211u001eCPRB. Based on the groundwater monitoring history, no significant groundwater 211u001econtamination has originated from the C-,F-, and P-CPRBs.
